Day by day
Day 1Delhi → Shimla (overnight)
- Board the AC Volvo from Delhi around 9:30 PM
- Dinner stop at a roadside dhaba on the way (own cost)
- Overnight journey to Shimla
Day 2Shimla → Kalpa
- Reach Shimla in the early morning, freshen up and have breakfast
- Drive past Kufri and Narkanda onto the old Hindustan–Tibet road
- Cross the Kinnaur Gate and follow the Sutlej River deep into Kinnaur (about 220 km, 9–10 hours)
- Check in at Kalpa, facing the Kinner Kailash range
Day 3Sangla Holi with the Locals (Mon, 22 Mar)
- After breakfast, drive to Sangla Valley (about 45 km each way)
- Celebrate Holi with the people of Sangla – part of the Fagli spring festival, with dry colours, folk music and dancing in the village square
- Snow on the peaks and colour in the air – a Holi you won't forget
- Back to Kalpa by evening
Day 4Kalpa → Tabo via Nako
- Check out after breakfast and drive the famous Ka Loops
- Stop at Nako village and its frozen lake
- Continue into Spiti to Tabo (about 180 km, 7–8 hours)
- Visit Tabo Monastery, founded in 996 CE, if time permits
Day 5Tabo → Dhankar → Key → Chicham → Kaza
- Visit Dhankar Monastery, perched on a cliff above the river
- Key Monastery, the largest in Spiti, above the valley
- Walk across Chicham Bridge, one of the highest bridges in Asia
- Reach Kaza by evening
Day 6Hikkim, Komic & Langza
- Send a postcard from Hikkim, one of the highest post offices in the world
- Komic – one of the highest villages reachable by road, with a café at the top
- Langza – the giant Buddha statue and fossils in the hills around the village
- Back to Kaza for the night
Day 7Kaza → Chitkul
- Early breakfast and a long scenic drive back through Nako, Pooh and Sangla (about 250 km, 9–10 hours)
- Reach Chitkul, the last inhabited village on the Indo-China border road
Day 8Chitkul → Shimla → Delhi
- Breakfast and drive back to Shimla (about 10–11 hours)
- Board the overnight Volvo to Delhi
Day 9Arrive in Delhi (Sun, 28 Mar)
- Early-morning arrival in Delhi – trip ends

Good to know
- Holi in Sangla is part of the local Fagli spring festival and falls on the main Holi day – 22 March in 2027
- Spiti in late March is still cold: around 0–10°C in the day and well below freezing at night; roads can close after fresh snow
- Kaza is at about 3,800 m – take it easy, drink plenty of water and tell us about any heart or breathing condition
- The day 6 night may be in Rakchham instead of Chitkul, depending on availability
- Carry an original government photo ID for the inner line permit

Cancellation policy
- Cancel in writing, by email or WhatsApp to our team.
- Your booking amount (advance) is non-refundable and non-transferable once paid.
- 30 days or less before departure: 100% of the trip cost is charged, or the actual vendor charges if higher.
- No cash refunds. Where money can be recovered you get a credit note, valid 12 months on a new Desh Videsh trip, after deducting flights, visas and vendor charges.
- Visa fees, hotel deposits, event tickets and add-ons are non-refundable. Charges apply whatever the reason, including visa rejection or a no-show.
- Want to change dates instead? One free reschedule up to 30 days before departure; 15–29 days: actual vendor costs; 14 days or less: treated as a cancellation.
- Group trips need at least 6 travellers. If a batch doesn’t fill, we offer another date, another trip or a credit note.
